Dara Ehmed from PYD-Bremen spoke on behalf of the organizing committee, Dayika Selîm on behalf of Kongra Star European Executive, Seda Tanrıkulu on behalf of the German Kurdish Women's Union (YJK-E) and Die Linke Bremerhaven Parliamentarian Muhlis Kocaağa.
Ehmed: we dedicate Newroz to leader Öcalan
PYD-Bremen member Dara Ehmed said that they dedicated Newroz to Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, and added: "Let this Newroz be the Newroz of the brotherhood of peoples. All over the world, capitalist forces and nation-statist forces are working against the will for freedom. They want this will for freedom, which emerged among the Kurdish people and became a ray of light in Rojava, to disappear. Rojava has become a model for the Middle East today. All the people living in Northern and Eastern Syria, Arabs, Kurds, Assyrians and Armenians, will continue to show their free will and make this system the basis of democratic life."
The message by the YJK-E said: "We celebrate the Newroz of women, youth and our people who resist oppression. Rêber Apo's [Abdullah Öcalan] freedom is our freedom. Just as we showed our commitment and will in Germany and throughout Europe on 8 March, we will be celebrating Newroz with the colors of resistance. We will continue our struggle until Kurdistan gains its status and our Leader his physical freedom."
