The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Media Center issued a statement saying that "our forces continue to repel the attacks of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries across all fronts, inflicting significant losses upon them and destroying their military vehicles."
The statement added: "At 10:40 this morning, Wednesday 8 January, the Turkish occupation mercenaries, supported by airstrikes from Turkish warplanes and UCAVs, launched a large-scale attack on the villages of Alloush and Tal Arish, as well as on the Syriatel hill in the vicinity of the Tishreen Dam, southeast of Manbij. Fierce clashes ensued between our forces and the mercenaries, resulting in the confirmed death of 63 mercenaries. Additionally, one tank and four mercenary transport vehicles were destroyed, while two BMB-type armored vehicles sustained damage. A group of mercenaries were ambushed by our forces in the vicinity of Syriatel Hill, resulting in the elimination of numerous and the fleeing of others."
The statement continued: "At 1:30 in the afternoon, a group of 25 mercenaries launched an attack on the hill overlooking the village of Tal Al-Zamala. Intense clashes ensued, resulting in the elimination of three mercenaries. A military vehicle equipped with a DShK machine gun was destroyed, and a BMB-type armored vehicle was damaged. The mercenaries were ultimately forced to flee from the battlefield due to our forces’ hard strikes.
Concurrent with these attacks, heavy artillery barrages continued to target the area. Additionally, Turkish UCAVs conducted intensive reconnaissance flights, targeting several of our forces’ positions."
The statement underlined: "Clashes between our forces and mercenaries persisted from ten in the morning until five in the evening. The bodies of numerous mercenaries remain strewn across the battlefield, as they have been unable to recover their eliminated mercenaries amidst the relentless strikes by our forces.
In total, some 63 mercenaries were killed, and 37 were injured. One tank and five military vehicles were destroyed, while three BMB-type armored vehicles were damaged.
As a result of the resolute resistance demonstrated by our fighters throughout these battles and clashes, six of our fighters were martyred, and nine others sustained injuries."
