Southern Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani has arrived in Turkey via the Khabur Border Crossing. No official statement has been made if Barzani will be meeting with Turkish officials.

It is claimed that Barzani will travel to another country through Turkey due to the ongoing closure of international airspace in KRG.

Barzani had recently announced his wish that “our strong relations with Turkey resume as before” amid Turkey’s continued threats against the independence referendum in Southern Kurdistan.

Reports suggest that Barzani has crossed the Khabur Border Gate with approval from Ankara.
