MP Taşçıer: Closure case against the HDP will remain inconclusive

“They want to remove a party that received 12 percent of the vote from the parliament. We had managed to enter the parliament independently when we did not stand as a party anyway. We do not have a problem in entering the parliament," said MP Taşçıer.

Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Amed Deputy İmam Taşçıer said that the closure case against HDP will remain inconclusive and Kurdish politics will grow even more as in the past.

HDP lawmaker Taşçıer said that HDP represents the “3rd way”.

Taşçıer spoke to ANF about the closure case against the HDP. He stated that the Republic of Turkey has always denied Kurds and suppressed the Kurdish opposition.

“In the 90s, our parties were closed, people were massacred and displaced, nature was plundered, but the Kurdish struggle did not drop behind and progressed even further. Persecution stems from the impasse in the Kurdish issue. They introduce chauvinistic policies and do politics over the Kurds. Persecution will continue until the Kurdish problem is resolved. This is what it is happening today. The HDP cannot be pushed out of politics, they know this too, but they plan to criminalize it.”

OUR PEOPLE SUPPORT THE PARTY

“People have officially expressed their support for the HDP and Kurdish politicians this Newroz. This closure case is a dead end. There are presidential and parliamentary elections. They want throw the HDP out of politics,” the lawmaker said.

HDP IS THE 3rd WAY

Taşçıer addressed the discussions on a possible alliance of parties in Turkey, saying the following: “The HDP is not a piece of cake, and it will not go after any other party. HDP is the 3rd way. The HDP can participate in the elections by various alliances, independently or with another party. The government’s aim is to intimidate the voters. They think that our voters will vote for another party if they close the HDP. HDP is now in a decisive position, we proved this in the last Istanbul elections. I started politics before the 1970s, political repressions continued unabated during the September 12 period. The National Security Council had the right to veto politicians. However, that council itself was put on trial. Kurdish politics has grown tenfold. Persecution is not a solution. Despite the bombings and the murder of journalists and politicians in the 90s, the public embraced their party more strongly. This support will wipe out the ruling AKP and MHP in Kurdish provinces in Kurdistan. The AKP will be removed in Kurdistan. Our people will manifest the necessary attitude.”
