In a written statement, the Mesopotamian Freedom Party (MÖP) said: "On behalf of the Assyrian / Syriac / Chaldean people, we condemn the Turkish genocide state mentality, and the AKP decision to seize the municipalities of Amed, Mardin and Van thus violating the will of the people."

Since March of 2019, added the statement, "the AKP has used all kinds of methods to increase the war. Despite these attacks the Revolutionary Guerrilla Army has defended the democratic gains of the people. Defending the municipalities means to stand against the Turkish genocidal mentality and its representative fascist government. This is one of the most important requirements of democracy and today is the most essential."

The MÖP called on "all people to support these gains and the democratic values it has contributed to achieve."

The MÖP also called on the international opinion to support the HDP in their fight for democracy by "putting pressure on Turkish state fascism and urging it to solve the problems within democracy."

The statement ended: "We believe the most reasonable policy for the Turkish state is to move away from this mentality and to focus on all the problems on the basis of democratic values ​​without any harm to all peoples. The peoples' struggle for a common democracy will lead the Turkish state to this process. We call on everybody to develop a common struggle of peoples against trustees in every field."
