The Mesopotamia Freedom Party (MÖP) issued a statement on behalf of the Assyrian, Syriac, Chaldean people, commemorating the PKK's 43rd anniversary.

The MÖP statement, titled "PKK is the symbol of an honourable life, trust, friendship, comradeship, and neighbourliness among peoples," highlighted that the MÖP would stand by the PKK in all aspects of life.

The statement of MÖP is as follows:

“As MÖP, we salute Mr Öcalan, the patriotic Kurdish people, the prison resisters, the guerrilla army, the libertarian women's movement, the peoples of Mesopotamia/Kurdistan, the forces of democracy and humanity on the 43rd anniversary of the PKK.

With respect and appreciation, we remember the heroes who have given their lives for this cause over the last half-century.

With the PKK, the seeds of conflict, fear, and doubt sown among the peoples by powers based on exploitation, occupation, conquest, and tyranny for hundreds of years across Mesopotamia, the Middle East, and Central Asia have matured into a new period and human values have guided the development of neighbourhood ties into another level.

The PKK represents a respectable way of life, trust, friendship, comradeship, and neighbourliness among people.

The Assyrian, Syriac, Chaldean people, who have left their stamp on Mesopotamian history for 7-8 thousand years, are among those who are content about the circumstances.

Because, while ties with the Kurdish people existed in the past, they were not founded on mutual will, respect, and honesty. After the period when Islamic ideology influenced the Kurds, relations between the Kurds and their neighbours always deteriorated. The Kurds have been used very unjustly by the Persian, Arab, and Turkish state systems against their Christian neighbours. The same colonial powers are now utilizing the PKK's collaborator Kurdish section against the honorable Kurdish identity that the PKK seeks to build.

The PKK's greatness, resistance, and righteousness brought this period to a close and launched a new honourable period together with the people. That is why, for the Assyrian, Syriac, Chaldean and other nations, the PKK has a very profound and historical worth. It has guided peoples in new history with the viewpoint of social democracy, surrounded by human values.

As a result, because the genocidal Turkish state and persecution-based structures could not digest this reality, they launched a genocidal campaign against the PKK on the night of April 24 with the mentality of the 1915 Sayfo Genocide. The PKK responded to this massacre with a great, courageous fight, preventing another genocide against the Kurdish people. The PKK prevented the Turkish genocidal state from imposing its occupying intentions on the peoples of the region by defeating it with resistance. We salute the PKK, a trustworthy ally, friend, and comrade of people, endowed with humane qualities.

As MÖP, we state that we stand by the PKK in every aspect of life!”
