‘Long March’ activists to reach Strasbourg tomorrow

Participants of the Basel-Strasbourg Long March have completed the 6th day of the march with great enthusiasm. Tomorrow they will merge in Strasbourg with the Luxembourg arm of the Long March action, and then march to the Council of Europe.

Activists partaking in the Long March from Basel to Strasbourg, to protest the international conspiracy against Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan at its 20th anniversary and to support the hunger strike resistance led by DTK Co-chair and HDP MP Leyla Guven, have completed the 6th day stage of their march.

Resuming their march from the French city of Sélestad in the morning, the activists have covered 20 km today and reached the Belfend city in the evening.

The marchers have condemned the international conspiracy in slogans they chanted throughout the day, including “Freedom for Ocalan”, “Long Live Prison Resistance” and “Leyla Guven is our honor”.

The demonstrators pointed out that the international powers that are accomplice to the conspiracy are also a party to the strict isolation imposed on Ocalan today with the policies they are implementing. They stressed that the ongoing resistance will break the isolation.

The activists have covered a total of 125 km in 6 days of the march. They will head to Strasbourg with buses tomorrow and merge at Strasburg Place Klaber with participants of the Luxembourg-Strasbourg Long March. The activists will then march to the Council of Europe.
