Kurds from Alagyaz, Octobarian and Artashat came together in Yerevan on Sunday to celebrate the Kurdish New Year, Newroz.
Local artists and Azad Bedran took the stage during the celebration held at the Sundukyan National Academic Cultural Centre in Yerevan.
A congratulatory address from the Esenge representation was read out after a minute's silence in memory of martyrs of the freedom struggle.
The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, also congratulated Newroz by sending a message.
Şêwra Gelê Kurd Co-Chair and Deputy Kinyas Hasanov, Kurdistan Committee Co-Chairs Ila Tovmasyan and Silo Dirboyan made speeches during the event.
The speakers congratulated Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan, guerrillas, martyrs and the Kurdish people on Newroz. They said that Newroz is a revolt against oppression and is celebrated with more enthusiasm and strength each year.
The celebration was concluded with slogans and traditional dance.
