Kurds and Japanese celebrate Newroz together

In Saitama province, north of Tokyo, the capital of Japan, Kurds and their Japanese friends celebrated Newroz with enthusiasm.

Kurds from different parts of Japan flocked to Akigase Park in Saitama city to attend the Newroz celebration.

The celebration was attended by about 1500 Kurds and Japanese people, including members of the Japanese state assembly and deputies from the Japanese parliament.

The celebration, organised by the Kurdish Cultural Association in Japan, attracted great interest from Japanese people.

The event was a platform where Japanese institutions and Kurdish friends expressed solidarity against the recent efforts of the Turkish state to create an anti-Kurdish perception.
