Kurdish initiative in Bern holds talks about Turkey’s use of chemical weapons

A delegation from the Kurdish Community Center and the Mizgîn Women's Council holds talks in Bern with NGOs and political parties about Turkey's use of chemical weapons in Kurdistan and calls for an independent investigation.

Kurds living in Bern have visited civil society organizations, human rights institutions and political parties to discuss the war crimes committed by the Turkish army in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq). The delegation from the Kurdish Community Center and the Mizgîn Women's Council is raising the issue of the use of chemical weapons in particular and is presenting an information dossier on what is happening in Kurdistan during the talks. The interlocutors are urged to take action against the crimes against people and nature.

On Monday, talks were held with the Human Rights Committee in the Canton of Bern, Amnesty International and the Red Cross Bern. On Tuesday, the delegation visited the representation of the Swiss Red Cross and on Wednesday the organization ACAT (Action of Christians for the Abolition of Torture) and political parties. The delegation calls for an independent investigation into reports of chemical weapons use.
