Iranian regime organizes counter protests

The Iranian regime, turning a deaf ear to the demands highlighted by tens of thousands on the streets, has organized counter demonstrations in some cities and is preparing for more protests on Friday.

The mass demonstrations of people in Iran and Rojhilat (Eastern Kurdistan) in protest at the Iranian regime’s policies of poverty and repression are spreading. The regime is turning a deaf ear to the demands highlighted by tens of thousands on the streets.

Demonstrations “in solidarity with the regime” have been organized on Wednesday following yesterday’s statement by Iranian religious authority Alî Khamenei who said; “In the last few days, the enemies of Iran have used their resources of money, weapons, politics and security forces and formed an alliance to create problems for the Islamic order”.

Slogans “Down with the US” and “Down with Israel” and in favor of Khamanei were chanted during today’s counter demonstrations in some towns of Ahwaz, Lorestan, Hemedan, Kerej, Kermanshah, Dehluran and Isfahan provinces.

Reports suggest that the regime’s counter protests will continue in some cities after the Friday Prayer on January 5th.
