Heyva Sor calls for help for people fleeing Lebanon

Kurdish Red Crescent calls on organisations and benefactors abroad to participate in their campaign for the resettlement of thousands of people fleeing the war between Israel and Hezbollah in safe places and meeting their vital needs.

The Kurdish Red Crescent Heyva Sor a Kurdistanê appealed for help for tens of thousands of people forced to flee Lebanon due to Israeli bombardments.

‘Since 7 October 2023, the war between Israel and Hamas has killed more than 42,000 people and displaced hundreds of thousands more due to the destruction. At a time when humanity is trying to heal the wounds of this war, the Lebanese-Israeli war has been added to this catastrophe,” Heyva Sor said.

Heyva Sor noted that tens of thousands of people from Syria had taken refuge in Lebanon due to the war and conflicts that have been going on in Syria for 13 years and there are many people from Rojava among them.

“Since the first days of the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria has been working to save Syrian refugees from the effects of the war. For this purpose, the Autonomous Administration completed its first preparations in a short time. Upon the call of the administration, more than 13 thousand people entered the region through Tabqa and Manbij crossings as of 29 September.”

The statement continued: “Rojava Humanitarian Organisation Heyva Sor a Kurd announced that it had launched an urgent aid campaign to meet the needs of citizens. Heyva Sor a Kurd's campaign is of great importance for the resettlement of thousands of people fleeing the war between Israel and Hezbollah in safe places and meeting their vital needs.

As Heyva Sor a Kurdistanê, we see ourselves as a partner of this campaign. With the awareness that it is a moral and humanitarian duty to care for the victims of war regardless of nationality, religion and belief, we will carry out this campaign by collecting financial aid in Europe, Scandinavia and Japan together with our partner aid organisations.

As Heyva Sor a Kurdistanê, we call on organisations and benefactors abroad to participate in Heyva Sor a Kurd's Campaign. All individuals and organisations that want to lend a helping hand to the Kurdish and Syrian refugees fleeing Lebanon can send their aid to those in need through Heyva Sor a Kurdistanê.”
