The self-rule resistance against genocidal attacks in Şırnak continues on its 56th day. Yenimahalle and Bahçelievler neighborhoods were shelled continuously last night. There are violent clashes in the two neighborhoods and İsmetpaşa and Cumhuriyet neighborhoods.

The neighborhoods are raked continuously with weapons stationed on armored vehicles. There has been an explosion at around 05.00 am in a building in Bahçelievler neighborhood as the special operations units were entering the building.

According to local sources, the state forces entered the building to use it as a headquarters, the building was destroyed by YPS/YPS-JIN members and there are special operations units trapped under the rubble.

Several ambulances from the Şırnak Public Hospital were dispatched to the area to retrieve the wounded.

Retreating after the explosion, state forces started shelling the neighborhood with Howitzers and several houses caught fire. Clashes between state forces and YPS/YPS-JIN members continue on the perimeter of the neighborhood.

The Yenimahalle, Cumhuriyet and İsmetpaşa neighborhoods are also under intense bombing. Yenimahalle has been under shelling in particular for the last two days and clashes in the neighborhoods continue.

There is also an ongoing UAV and helicopter activity over Şırnak’s skies.
