German army resumes Peshmerga training

After a week-long break, German army will resume the training of Kurdish peshmerga troops in the fight against the ISIS.

The German army resumed the training of Kurdish peshmerga fighters in Southern Kurdistan on Sunday after a week of interruption.

Since 2014, German soldiers have been training peshmerga for the fight against ISIS.  However, because of the recent military escalation between Iraq and Kurdish forces, the mission had been provisionally suspended on 13 October to protect the Bundeswehr (German army) personnel. On Friday, a Ministry of Defence spokesman said the situation had calmed down.

And finally, on Sunday, ARD television reported that the German Ministry of Defence decided to resume the training of peshmerga.
