Sevinç Bozan, former co-mayor of Artuklu Municipality in Mardin (Mêrdî), was taken into custody at the Mardin Courthouse where she had gone to give a statement.

On Tuesday, Bozan was called to testify within the scope of an investigation launched against her for the activities organized by the Free Women’s Movement - Tevgera Jinên Azad (TJA) she had attended.

Bozan was waiting for her statement to be taken at the courthouse when she was taken into custody and taken to Mardin Provincial Gendarmerie Command. She was told her statement would be taken there today.
