FEDA: Responsible of Shengal genocide must be brought to justice

FEDA said in a statement on the 5th anniversary of the Yazidi genocide in Shengal: "Those responsible must be tried regardless of their identity and authority."

The Democratic Alevi Federation (FEDA) issued a written statement regarding the Shengal Genocide.

FEDA called for a joint struggle in all areas of life to prevent new genocides. "This solidarity is a historical duty and responsibility of humanity" FEDA said.

FEDA pointed out that the genocide had a special vicious feature of crime against women.

"The international and regional powers and all democratic institutions and organizations should be mobilized to clear this shame and to rescue the Yazidi Kurdish women still in the hands of ISIS."

The statement underlined that the Yazidi genocide was the continuation of Dersim genocide (1938) and the 1915 Armenian Genocide.

The statement also underlined that the fate of thousands of Kurdish Yazidi women kidnapped in Shengal is still unknown.

"Those responsible for this massacre should be tried regardless of their identity and authority", said the statement adding that the August 2014 massacre was a crime against humanity.
