FED-DEM holds congress in Bremen

FED-DEM, organized in the German states of Lower Saxony, Bremen and Hamburg, held its congress.

FED-DEM (Federationa Civaka Demokrat a Kurdistaniyên li Bakurê Elmanya), organized in the German states of Lower Saxony, Bremen and Hamburg, held its 6th ordinary congress in Bremen.

The congress was held at the Bremen Democratic Kurdish Community Center and started with a minute’s silence in memory of the Kurdistan Freedom Martyrs.

Kerem Gök, Rojîn Qamişlo and Emrullah Cin were elected to the council.

FED-DEM co-chair and executive elections were held at the congress, where the political process evaluation, the organizational situation of the federation, the situation of the assemblies and communes were discussed.

Sebahat Ergün and Cuma Özdoğan were elected co-chairs. Ergün said in her speech: "The shortcomings and inadequacies we have experienced show that the gap between us and the Leadership has widened. While we reiterate our promise, we would also like to state that we will eliminate these deficiencies. We will try to be worthy of the leadership and martyrs."

New co-chair Cuma Özdoğan thanked all the participants for deeming themselves worthy of this task and said: "Since we are new to this task, the experience of every friend from 7 to 77 is important to us. We will also try to fulfill whatever role, mission and duty this people and this movement has assigned to us."
