FARC party denounces killing of yet another former guerrilla

Another former FARC guerrilla killed in Colombia.

Fredy Fajardo Ávila was murdered in Uribe, Meta. He was a former FARC-EP guerrilla and had signed the Final Peace Agreeement and entered the reincorporation process.

He is the 217th former guerrilla to be killed, denounced the FARC party.

On 10 June the FARC party ahd warned United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Michele Bachelet about the systematic killings of former guerillas and social leaders.

As a result, the UN urged the government to "deepen measures for the dismantling of criminal organizations to guarantee the safety of former guerrillas, social leaders, and human rights defenders."
