Detention period extended for 10 politicians in Ankara

The detention period of 10 politicians, including HDP executives, who were detained on Friday in political genocide operations in Ankara, has been extended.

The detention period of 10 pro-Kurdish politicians, who were detained in house raids on Friday morning in a political genocide operation in Ankara, has been extended on Monday.

The politicians, who include Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Ankara Women's Council Spokesperson Zeyno Bayramoğlu, HDP Party Assembly (PM) member Ali Özkan, HDP Eskişehir provincial branch co-chair Şükriye Ercan and HDP Mamak district branch co-chair Mustafa Uğur Akkaya, have been in custody for four days.

The detention period of the women in custody has been extended by 2 days, and that of men by four days.

Human Rights Association (IHD) co-chair Öztürk Türkdoğan, who had been detained in the operation on the same day, was released.
