The dates for the traditional 'Long March', organized annually by young people in Germany for the release of Abdullah Öcalan, have been announced.
This year, the "Long March" will take place from 9 to 14 February, covering the distance from the city of Heilbronn to Freiburg in Germany. The march will continue on 15 February (the day on which, 26 years ago, Öcalan was captured) with the grand march and rally in Strasbourg.
In a call made about the action, the organizers stated: "All young people who wish to unite under the slogan 'Freedom for Leader Apo [Abdullah Öcalan], a Solution to the Kurdish Question' are invited to join."
Young people from France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, England, and other European countries are expected to participate in the march.
On the first day of the march, spanning from Heilbronn to Freiburg in Germany, the focus will be on the International Conspiracy of 15 February 1999. The Organizing Committee said: "We will be protesting the International Conspiracy carried out against Abdullah Öcalan. We will unite against the conspiracy orchestrated by Gladio forces under the auspices of NATO states and tear down the walls of the torture and genocide system in İmralı. We will expand our struggle against fascism and colonialism under the slogan 'You Cannot Darken Our Sun.' This fight will continue until Abdullah Öcalan's physical freedom is achieved."
