At least 5 detained in Urfa and Malatya

The Turkish regime’s political genocide continues unabated.

Turkish police stormed some houses in Urfa and its Viranşehir district early Thursday morning. Two people were taken into custody in Urfa and two others in Viranşehir.

Those detained include HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party) Haliliye district branch chair Hatice Göktepe. The reason for the detentions was not disclosed.

According to a statement published on Kurdistan Communist Party (KKP) website, the Malatya provincial branch chair of the party, Halil Göktaş, was taken into custody during a house raid.
