On the second day of the 23rd General Assembly of the Kurdistan National Congress (KNK), the Co-Chairs of the KNK and the KNK Executive Council have been elected at the first session.
Although the term of office for the co-chairs is limited to two terms according to the internal regulations, a proposal was submitted to the Assembly by some delegates to allow the current co-chairs to serve for one more term.
The proposal submitted by the Council to the delegates for voting was unanimously accepted, and it was decided that the co-chairs would continue in their positions for another term.
Again, in accordance with the internal regulations, a proposal was submitted to increase the number of members of the Executive Council from 19 to 23, taking into account the increasing scope of activities of the KNK. This proposal was also accepted unanimously.
Some delegates from Kurdistan and Russia who were unable to attend the congress due to visa issues participated in the session via video link.
Following a vote on the internal regulations, Ahmet Karamus and Zeynep Murad were re-elected as co-chairs of the KNK.
The session is currently continuing with the election of the members of the KNK Executive Council.
