A Kurdish youngster at NBA

Þerazim Cucuboða, 18-year old Kurdish basketball player from Diyarbakir was proposed to play at Franklin Marshall University team. He is the first Kurd ever to play at the American National Basketball Association (NBA).

Þerazim was playing at Baglar Municipality youth basketball team in Diyarbakir when he was elected to the three-day NBA camp held in Istanbul under coughing of Zaza Pachulia and Micah Nori on 2 July. At the end of the camp Þerazim was one of those two who accepted to go to NBA, among thousand of players coming all over Turkey.

Þerazim flied to the USA in July in order to join NBA camp in Pennsylvania where he was proposed to play at NCAA league with Franklin Marshall University. His trainer says it is a great success to receive such a proposal. He also said Þerazim is the very first Kurdish from Diyarbakir to be so successful at NBA level. It is also reported that the Turkish Fenerbahce Basketball team is also interested in Þerazim.

18-year old and 2.08 m tall Þerazim started playing basketball when he was 11. He was granted scholarship by Dicle College in Diyarbakir where he continued playing basketball.
