44 ISIS members killed in clashes in Raqqa

SDF fighters have repelled ISIS attacks with bomb-laden vehicles and motorbikes in Nazlat Shehade neighbourhood of Raqqa and 44 ISIS members have been killed during clashes ongoing since last night.

In the neighbourhood of Nazlat Shehade south of Raqqa, clashes between SDF fighters and ISIS gangs that erupted last night continued into this morning. The gangs attacked the SDF positions with three bomb-laden vehicles and 2 motorbikes in an effort to stop their advance.

SDF fighters retaliated and repelled the attacks, as result of which 14 ISIS members were killed, including 3 that died as result of an explosion of the mines they themselves planted. With these most recent attacks, the number of assaults carried out by the gangs with bomb-laden vehicles since last night has risen to 6.

During continued clashes since last night, 44 ISIS members, among them suicide bombers and a gang leader, have been killed. SDF fighters seized many arms and ammunition of the gangs.

On the other hand, the Old Raqqa neighbourhood east of the city and al-Barid neighbourhood to the northwest have also witnessed fierce clashes throughout the night. No details were immediately available regarding the outcomes of the confrontations.
