19th group of Kurdish refugees takes over hunger strike in Greek camp

New group has taken over the hunger strike in Lavrio camp, in Greece, demanding the end to the isolation imposed on Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan.

The 19th group has taken over the hunger strike carried out by Kurdish refugees in Lavrio camp, in Greece. The hunger strike demanding the end of the isolation imposed on Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan has reached its 91st day.

Speaking in the name of the group, Xeyri Amed celebrated Öcalan’s birthday and said “April 4 is the birthday of all Kurdish people and the oppressed.”

Vowing to enhance the resistance for Öcalan, Amed added, “The freedom of the Leader should be defined as the freedom of the society, women, youth and peoples. Our hunger strike action will continue until the Leader is freed.”
