As the Revenge Operation for Kobanê Martyrs continues, reports are coming through that fighters of the YPG/YPJ (People's/Women's Defense Units) have entered the town of Sirîn to the south of Kobanê.

Heavy clashes are being reported between YPG/YPJ and ISIS in the town which had been encircled by the Defense Units for some time.

ISIS gangs in Sirîn had recently increased their pressures on civilians, who have been taken as hostages for months now, after the YPG/YPJ besieged the town and disconnected the road between Raqqa and Sirîn.

Gangs had been making announcements in Sirîn that nobody could leave the town, and planting mines on the roads around the town in order to prevent civilians’ escape. Gangs had also been training children as suicide bombers and preparing grown-ups to be used as human shields.
