YJA Star guerrillas hit Turkish attack helicopter in Zap

Free Women’s Troops (YJA Star) guerrillas targeted a Turkish attack helicopter that sought to bomb the Tîpa T area in Zap on September 2. The attack helicopter had to move away from the area after being hit by the guerrillas.

The People’s Defense Forces (HPG) Press Centre has released a statement about the latest guerrilla actions and Turkish attacks in Kurdistan territory. The statement includes the following:

As part of the Bazên Zagrosê Revolutionary Campaign:

On August 31, at 05:00, a checkpoint on the Şemzînan-Gever road in Colemêrg (Hakkari) was hit by our forces. The number of Turkish forces killed and injured in this action could not be verified.

On September 2, at 00:30, a Turkish attack helicopter set to bomb the Tîpa T area in the Zap region was targeted by our YJA Star forces. The attack helicopter had to move away from the area after getting hit.

On September 2, at 19:00, Turkish soldiers in the Cîloya Biçûk area of the Zap region were targeted by our forces with heavy weapons. The targets were hit accurately.

In the Werxelê Resistance Area in the Avaşîn region:

On September 2, between 01:30 and 02:30, the invading Turkish army bombed the Werxelê Resistance Area with explosives and heavy weapons. The soldiers who attempted to advance after the bombings had to retreat after being hit at close range by the Werxelê Resistance fighters.

On September 3, between 06:50 and 09:00, the invading Turkish army committed another war crime and bombed the Werxelê Resistance Area using poisonous gas.

Turkish drone and reconnaissance aircraft mobility continues over the Resistance Areas.

On September 2, between 11:30 and 19:10, Çemço and Sîda areas of the Zap region and Rençbiraxa village were bombed with howitzers fired from military outposts located on the border line. The fires that broke out in the area as a result of the bombings are continuing.

On September 2, between 20:40 and 22:00, Turkish helicopter mobility was observed on the Qaşura line of the Metîna region. During the same hours, the vicinity of the villages of Deşîşê, Êdînê, Kêste, Serarû and Hirore in the Kanî Masî sub-district of the Amadiya district, and the Koordîne and Kela Qûmriyê areas were bombed by attack helicopters.

On September 2, between 00:40 and 01:30, Turkish helicopter mobility was observed in the areas of Mervanos, Tabûra Ereban, Girê Spî, Gîrê Sor and Girê Silêman in the Avaşîn region.

On September 3, between 08:00 and 09:00, the villages of Kafya, Şêranê and Rêdine in the Garê area were bombed by Turkish fighter jets. The fires that broke out in the area as a result of the bombings are continuing.”
