YBŞ commanders Bawer and Amed laid to rest in Mount Shengal

YBŞ commanders Amed Kawyan (Mehmet Mendalioglu) and Bawer Şengal (Enver Xêro Xidir Mîrza) who fell martyrs on the 21st July in Shengal's Sikiniyê village, were interred at the Şehîd Dilgeş and Şehîd Berxwedan Cemetery of Martyrs in Shengal.

Two commanders of the Shengal Defense Units (YBŞ), Amed Kawyan (Mehmet Mendalioglu) and Bawer Şengal (Enver Xêro Xidir Mîrza), were laid to rest in a massive funeral ceremony in Mount Shengal, attended by hundreds of fighters of the YBŞ and YJŞ (Shengal Women's Units) and guerrillas of the People's Defence Forces (HPG) and Free Women's Troops (YJA-Star).

The people of Shengal escorted the bodies of both YBŞ commanders Bawer and Amed in a convoy of hundreds of cars to the Şehîd Dilgeş and Şehîd Berxwedan Cemetery of Martyrs, where the fighters of the YBŞ and YJŞ and guerrillas of the HPG and YJA Star saluted them with the chant "Martyrs never die" and a military ceremony.

YBŞ Commander Mazlûm Şengalî spoke at the ceremony and stated: "We will continue our struggle until our last breath, to fulfil the dreams and hopes of our comrades Bawer and Amed, and we will always remain faithful to the memories of all martyrs."

Şengalî recalled that following the 73rd genocide of the 3rd August 2014, the people of Shengal have crested with the power of the YBŞ to their new current strength and continued: "From now onwards they will enhance their power and achieve their status. Those who abandoned this people since the beginning, will never be able to obstruct this status and the Êzidî people. If they are sincere, they will acknowledge and support the status of an independent Shengal. The day has come for the entire Êzidî community to unite for Shengal's independence. Unity is demanded now more than ever before. We might have our differences, but when the interests of our people come into play, we have to form our unity. Only that way will we be able to protect ourselves, our culture and our history. Any form of personal interests will darken the future of this people. Today the future of this people relies on us, and we need to unite to this end. We have to open up the third path and lead our struggle based on that path. Therefore I call upon all forces and groups to not chase after other things, but to unite for the benefit of our people and reclaim its values and its martyrs. Once again we commemorate all the martyrs and salute them. We offer our condolences to the families of our cherished values and our people. We, the YBŞ and YJŞ vow to follow the path of our martyrs until the last drop of blood and make their aim a reality."

Following the speeches the comrades of both martyred YBŞ commanders Bawer and Amed shouldered the coffins and laid them to rest with the chant "Martyrs never die".
