Yazidi people in Amed protest ongoing ISIS attacks in Kurdistan

The Yazidi people in the main Kurdish city Amed where they took shelter after fleeing their hometown Sinjar due to ISIS attacks have protested the ongoing attacks of ISIS gangs.

Hundreds of Yazidis sheltered in Fidanlık camp which belongs to Yenişehir Municipality held a demonstration condemning the ISIS attacks in Kurdistan territory. With banners in English and Arabic, the Yazidi children, youths and women joining the demonstration called attention primarily to the situation of the Yazidi women captured by ISIS and sold in slave markets.

'Promises have yet to be fulfilled'

A woman demonstrator by the name of Hurê Sıvok recalled that thousands of Yazidi civilians were massacred and a number of women committed suicide to not to be captured by the gangs.

Another Yazidi citizen İbrahim Xano said they want their children to continue their lives with out fear and tears, pointing out that; “Federal Kurdistan Government and many international agencies made us numerous promises but none of them has been fulfilled so far.”

Hüseyin Aldaxîn stressed that they don't want to leave Amed until Sinjar is entirely liberated from ISIS, and called on all international agencies to make an effort for the liberation of the Yazidi community.
