Yagiz closer to critical condition on day 69 of hunger strike

The health of Nasir Yagiz, who has been on a hunger strike for 69 days in Hewler, continues to deteriorate. HDP Representative Muzeyen Gunes said, “National and international organizations should take action to end the isolation.”

The hunger strike launched under the lead of HDP’s South Kurdistan Representation Office to protest the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Ocalan continues on day 69.

The 35th group took over the hunger strike following a statement released today. Meanwhile, HDP member Nasir Yagiz’s condition continues to deteriorate. Yagiz has been on an indefinite nonalternating hunger strike for 69 days, and is suffering from headaches, nausea, blood pressure issues and severe weight loss.

“INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS SHOULD TAKE ACTION”

HDP Representative Muzeyen Gunes said: “Our hunger strike in Hewler continues with great resolve. The condition of Nasir Yagiz, who has been on the hunger strike for 69 days, continues to deteriorate. His health is being closely monitored. National and international organizations should take action at once to end the isolation.”
