Women go on hunger strike in front of the UN office in Hewler

A group of women have launched a hunger strike against the isolation in front of the United Nations Representation Office in Hewler.

Women from the Maxmur Ishtar Assembly set up a tent in front of the United Nations (UN) Representation Office in Hewler to hold an indefinite alternating hunger strike against the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan.

“RESISTANCE MUST SPREAD TO ALL CITIES”

Maxmur Ishtar Assembly Member Leyla Arzu spoke before the launch of the hunger strike and said: “A line must be drawn against the Turkish state attacks to invade Bashure Kurdistan. We state that we stand with the people of Behdinan in their resistance. Like in Sheladize, the resistance must spread to all cities.”

Maxmur Ishtar Assembly members will submit a report they prepared on the ongoing hunger strikes in Bashur to the UN Human Rights Commission.

The hunger strike started with 7 women.
