SDF commander Merxas Kobanê announced that they have entered the second phase of Operation Liberate Manbij, and would soon offer the gift of victory and freedom to peoples.

Merxas Kobanê stated that they have liberated tens of villages from ISIS gangs during the first phase of Operation Liberate Manbij, which had begun on June 1, 2016, and were now ready to enter Manbij city center.

Kobanê said that preparations for entering the city, which is the second phase of the operation, were going as planned and SDF forces’ priority was the safety of civilians. Kobanê noted that civilians that managed to escape from Manbij and took refuge in the SDF stated that ISIS gangs use civilians as hostages and human shields in Manbij city center.

Commander Kobanê emphasized that the SDF was extra careful in observing all international law during the “Martyr Commander Faysal Abu Layla Initiative” aiming to liberate Manbij from ISIS gangs, and took control of all supply routes going into Manbij.

Merxas Kobanê said that Manbij Military Council and the SDF made extra effort to ensure the safety of civilians, and called upon civilians trapped in the city to avoid the clashes.

CALL TO INTERNATION POWERS: GANGS ARE CROSSING OVER TO TURKEY

Commander Merxas Kobanê stated that ISIS gangs and emirs that manage to escape from Manbij currently under siege have gone to Jarablus and crossed over to Turkey and Europe, and called upon international powers to take a stance against this development.

Merxas Kobanê called upon the international community to pressure the Turkish state, which has carried out massacres in Syria and Rojava through its proxy groups such as ISIS, Al-Nusra, Ahrar al-Sham, Jaysh al-Islam etc, in order to prevent further massacres in Europe.

Lastly, Kobanê promised the people of Manbij that the Martyr Commander Faysal Abu Layla Initiative would continue until Manbij is completely liberated.
