Van citizens pay heaviest fines for not complying with lockdown

726 people who did not comply with the curfew imposed due to the epidemic in Van were fined 2 million 229 thousand liras.

In Van, fines of up to 3,500 Turkish liras are given to those who do not comply with the rules of the coronavirus curfew.

The two-day curfew declared on 11 April in Zonguldak and 30 metropolitan cities, also covered Van.

On the first day of lockdown, fines for a total of 1,405,436 Turkish liras were given to 277 people. 

On the second day 449 were fined for a total of 823,564 TL, for a total of 2,229,000 TL in 48 hours. 

On average, fines were between 130 and 389 TL in Turkish cities. However in Van the fines reached 3,5000 TL.
