Valencia Film Festival selects Ji Bo Azadiye for its competition

Ji Bo Azadiye (The end will be spectacular) has been selected for the official competition in the Valencia Film Festival.

The Valencia Film Festival announced their first films in competition. Ji Bo Azadiye (The end will be spectacular) by Ersin Çelik has been selected for the official competition. The film is produced by the Rojava Film Commune.

The festival said about Ji Bo Azadiye: “It is a war film in the classic sense of the term, which recounts the hundred-day siege to which the Kurds were subjected by the Turkish army in the city of Diyarbakir, in the borough of Sur in 2015. Some of the survivors of those events embody the characters, which heightens the dramatic strength of a film told through the eyes of a young Kurdish woman who returns to her place of origin.”

The festival will begin on 22 October and will last until 1 November in Valencia.
