United Kurdish Women's Platform calls for national unity

The United Kurdish Women's Platform said: "This is the day in which Kurds protect each other from the occupiers, and strengthen the struggle for freedom in Kurdistan."

The United Kurdish Women's Platform issed a written statement  against the embargo and attacks against Maxmur Camp carried out during the coronavirus outbreak.

The statement said: "The people of Kurdistan are going through a difficult time. They are exposed to racist and sexist attacks by the ruling class and at the same time the occupiers use the coronavirus outbreak as a weapon against Kurds, prevent solidarity among people and legitimize women killings. They try to sow the seeds of hostility among Kurds with these policies.

The statement added: "As Kurdish women, we call on Kurdish parties, organizations and opinion leaders to ensure Kurds are united against the invaders. In this challenging and difficult process, we must ensure peace among the different parties is achieved. Because mothers' hearts are broken if a single life is targeted and the society falls apart.

Let's make this the day of national unity and empowerment of Kurds. This is not the day when Kurds will enter the enemy's game. This is the day in which Kurds protect each other from the occupiers, and strengthen the struggle for freedom in Kurdistan."
