Turkish soldiers shoot civilians crossing the Rojava border

Turkish soldiers have shot members of a family from Rojava, West Kurdistan, as they crossed the border into Kobanê illegally.

Turkish soldiers have shot members of a family from Rojava, West Kurdistan, as they crossed the border into Kobanê illegally.

Members of the Rojava family were targeted by Turkish soldiers as they attempted for an illegal crossing of the border from Akçakale district of Urfa into the village of Yapse, 5 km to the west of Girê Spî.

Soldiers started opening fire on the family soon after they crossed the wire fences at the border. A member of the defense forces (Erka Parastin) who came to the scene from Yapse village to help the family on hearing the gunshots, and a 6-year-old child of the family were wounded in the attack.

Both of the wounded have been taken to the hospital in Kobanê.
