The Turkish army has been bombarding the villages of Rojava's Efrîn Canton for a while. Recently, the Turkish army has increased the number of its troops along the border of the canton, mainly of Shiye district.

The Turkish forces have been deploying tanks and armored vehicles in the border area, and targeting everyone that approaches the border as they increase their military activities and deployment.

The Turkish army has also been bombarding Efrîn's villages recently. 4 YPG fighters fell as martyrs and 4 civilians got wounded as result of Turkish troops' artillery attacks on Jinderes, Raco, Shiye and Mabata districts on Newroz Day, 21 March. Houses and fields of the locals were also damaged during the attack.
