While HPG (People's Defense Forces) guerrillas continue abiding by the ceasefire declared two years ago and fulfilling their duties for the resolution process initiated by Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan, Turkish army on the other hand continues its attempts to derail the process with further provocations, deployments and constructions of guard posts and dams in Kurdistan territory.

The operations and attacks of the Turkish army against guerrilla areas stand as blatant samples of the AKP government's provocations against the process in search of a peaceful and democratic resolution to the Kurdish question in Turkey.

Turkish army has recently enhanced deployments at prominent locations and strategic hills, as a part of which intense military dispatchment is being made around the Girana guard post at the border to Avashin region of Medya Defense Zones controlled by HPG guerrillas.

Turkish troops are intensely forming new emplacements at Mêrge – Govende - Hill Xwedê triangle around the Girana guard post.

Military units have been deployed at the foots of the Mergê Hill where the military zone is being extended on the grounds of security.
