Turkish army suffers casualties in Tendürek

Turkish army has been inflicted a blow in Mount Tendürek located between Ağrı's Bazid (Doğubeyazıd) district and Van's Çaldıran district.

Clashes erupted between guerrillas and the Turkish troops that launched an operation at Mount Tendürek yesterday.

According to Turkish media reports, some soldiers were killed or wounded during the clash while the exact number is not clear yet.

Local sources report that several ambulances have been dispatched to the scene and helicopters are retrieving the dead and wounded soldiers from the region.

The operation area witnessed intense helicopter activity throughout last night while Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan claimed that PKK members were inflicted a blow in Tendürek.

Guerrillas conducted road control in this region 24 hours after Erdoğan's statement, and set a truck working for the Turkish army ablaze.

Last week People's Defense Central Headquarters Command sent a congratulation message to the guerrillas under Serhat Regional Command for the blows they have inflicted upon the Turkish army in Tendürek region recently.
