HPG (People's Defense Forces) Press Office said that the Turkish army shelled Medya Defense Zones.

In a written statement about the ongoing Turkish military activity, HPG said Turkish aircraft carried out reconnaissance over the border to Xakurke region of Medya Defense Zones at 11:00 and between 14:30 – 16:00 yesterday.

Again on 11 May, Turkish troops deployed at the Oremar guard post in Yüksekova district of Hakkari, carried out a mortar attack against the Martyr Gafur area at the border of Avashin region between 7-8 pm.

Reconnaissance flights were also performed over the Şukê area between 21:00 – 23:00.

Another bombardment was conducted by the Turkish troops at Yekmal and Sinek guard posts at Heftanin border between 22:00 – 23:00 yesterday. The attack which was carried out with mortar, howitzer and tanks targeted the areas of Boxaza PKK, Hill Zeytuna, Hill Göme, Hill Hestîya and Hill Şehit Deniz.

Soldiers deployed at Bilican guard post at the border to Zap region of Medya Defense Zones patrolled in civilian cars for reconnaissance at 05:30 today. Turkish soldiers withdrew back to their post after guerrillas opened a warning fire against the civilian cars twice.

Again on 11 May, Turkish UAVs carried out reconnaissance over the same region between 7-11 in the morning.

Turkish troops on the other hand laid ambushes on the road between the Farqin (Silvan) dam and Boşatê village of Farqin between 19:00 - 00:00 yesterday.

Village guards and soldiers are still standing guard at strategic points around the Farqin dam, HPG said, stressing that the Turkish army still attempted to sustain the construction of the dam despite the repeated warnings highlighted by HPG Amed Command so far.

Turkish UAVs carried out reconnaissance over Martyr Harun area of Amed's Hani district between 12:00 – 18:00, and over Metina area of Medya Defense Zones between 21:00 yesterday and 06:00 today.
