TEV-DEM Co-President evaluated the massacre that targeted Socialist Youth Associations Federation members who were on their way to help rebuild Kobanê to ANF, and emphasized the role of AKP in the attack.
’YOUTH CARRYING THE REVOLUTION TO PEOPLES WAS TARGETED’
Ehmed offered condolences to the families of the youth martyred in Suruç, and wished a speedy recovery to all injured people. Ehmed emphasized that the massacred revolutionaries was bright and progressive people who were defending the union and sisterhood of peoples, and supporting Kobanê resistance. Ehmed recalled that the youth was in Suruç for its efforts to rebuild Kobanê with the motto of ‘We defended together, we will rebuild together.’ Ehmed highlighted that this meaningful act showed that the socialist youth embraced the revolution and saw it as people’s revolution.
’THEY ARE AFRAID OF PEOPLES’ REUNION’
Ehmed stressed the importance of socialist youth’s stance against ISIS barbarians and their supporters, and said that the youth was targeted for preventing the union of the revolution with peoples. Ehmed emphasized that the perpetrators of the brutal massacre targeted women and young people on purpose because they were scared that young people and women would enable the union of peoples with the revolution in Rojava.
‘AKP IS THE ACCOMPLICE OF THIS MASSACRE’
Ehmed stated that AKP was the accomplice of this massacre due to its use of ISIS gangs in its attacks against Kurdish people, and revolutionary and democrat forces. Ehmed said that the youth were not bringing guns but toys and construction tools into Kobanê, and called upon the AKP government to clarify its stance on ISIS gangs. Ehmed pointed out that the massacre exposed the partnership between AKP and ISIS, which would never be tolerated by Kurdish people.
‘EACH ONE OF THEM WILL LIVE IN KOBANÊ’’
Ehmed underlined that the youth martyred in Suruç were also Kobanê martyrs, and their resistance against ISIS meant a lot to the people of Kobanê. Ehmed noted that the reconstruction of Kobanê would be shaped by Suruç martyrs’ ideals and spirit, which will continue to leave in every new tree, wall and street in Kobanê.
