The Movement for Democratic Society (Kurdish: Tevgera Civaka Demokratîk‎, TEV-DEM) Executive Assembly has celebrated in a written statement the liberation of Girê Spi which it described as an important step for building democratic nation.

TEV-DEM has issued a statement in celebration of the liberation of Girê Spi by the joint operation of YPG/YPJ and Burkan Al Fırat forces, which it said is the result of the common will of the peoples of the region, the Kurdish, Arab, Assyrian, Syriac and the Turkmens. TEV-DEM stressed that the Operation Commander Rubar Qamishlo gained victory in the leadership of the YPG/YPJ forces and forces from FSA and with the contribution and support of the peoples of the region, ending the oppression of the ISIS gangs on the people.

The Movement for Democratic Society said the Kobanê resistance was the beginning of the end of ISIS and added that today ISIS has been defeated in a large area extending from Cizir to Kobanê cantons. “On this occasion, we commemorate the martyrs of freedom with whole respect”, said the TEV-DEM.

TEV-DEM stressed that the victory gained by the YPG/YPJ forces, which started with the liberation of Mount Kizwan, continued with Til Temir, Mebrûka, Aliya, Silûk and reached the victorious result in Girê Spî cannot be attributed to the Kurdish people only, as it has been sustained with the contribution of all the peoples of the region.

FIGHT AGAINST ISIS IS A FIGHT FOR HUMANITY

TEV-DEM went on saying that ISIS gangs imposed cruelty on all the peoples of the region without making any difference, and that the war against the ISIS gangs is by this very reason a war waged in defence of the values of humanity, and that the peoples have proved this fact through their resistance.

LET’S STEP UP THE STRUGGLE AGAINST THE ISIS GANGS

TEV-DEM said the multicultural composition of Girê Spî will at the same be the basis of free and common life and added that the people of the town will play an important role in the building of a democratic nation. TEV-DEM drew attention to the dirty plans in attempt of triggering conflict among the peoples, and warned the people of the region to be attentive sensitive against those plans. “Our people shall struggle for a democratic and free future”, said TEV-DEM.

“On this occasion, we greet all the youths of the different communities and the all the nations who took part in the resistance. We call on all to step up the struggle against the ISIS gangs”, said TEV-DEM, adding that it commemorates all those who fell bravely in this struggle. TEV-DEM ended its statement by vowing to remain loyal to the memories of the martyrs.
