The onset of summer and hot weather has brought along ever more challenging conditions for the Êzîdî people who continue living on Mount Sinjar since the savage ISIS gangs occupied their homeland and committed brutal massacres as of 3 August 2014.

The people of the Êzîdî community who have once again taken shelter in the "sacred" mountain in the face of the massacres, for the 73rd time in their history, are determined to not leave Sinjar despite all the challenges they have been facing.

As nylon tents are making the circumstances severer as the weather gets hotter, the struggle for life goes on while fighting also continues for the liberation of their lands from the inhumane gangs targeting their existence.

Erzan İlyas, who is one of those trying to maintain their lives in nylon tents, voices his insistence to stay in his homeland regardless of how difficult the conditions are, saying; "No matter how hot the weather is, it cannot be as hard as the 73rd decree."

Recalling how difficult 3 August was to them, İlyas tells; "We are awaiting the day to turn back home. The reason why and how we can endure these conditions is the hope we have on going back to Sinjar."

İlyas emphasizes that; "We will never abandon our lands."
