While security forces are attempting to enter the neighborhoods and opening fire at random, at least four people have been reported killed during today's crackdown. It is reported that police are uttering threats that 'many people will die' and they will remain in the district till the elections.
Thousands of police, soldiers and special operation teams have been deployed in schools and some state institutions around the neighborhoods of Nur, Sur, Cudi and Yafes, in addition to a large number of tanks, panzers and armored vehicles.
Reports say that some 300 special operation police were dispatched to the district in 150 armored vehicles and 50 buses two days ago in line with an instruction from the Ministry of the Interior.
POLICE: WE ARE HERE TILL THE END OF ELECTIONS, MANY WILL DIE
A local resident of the district told that police teams threatened that "Many people will die" and that they would remain in the district till the end of elections. The resident, asking to be mentioned anonymous for security reasons, said; "Policemen said they were dispatched to Cizre from various cities upon an order from Ankara. They said they would clear here and leave after the elections."
POLICE PREPARING FOR A MASSACRE
While police teams attempt a massacre of civilians, make build-up near neighborhoods and open fire at random, local people are resisting the curfew going on since yesterday evening and youths have started carrying out self-defense to hinder police forces from entering the neighborhoods. The resistance of youths, also supported by the people, has turned into clashes in Nur, Cudi, Sur and Yafes neighborhoods.
WHAT IS GOING ON IN FOUR NEIGHBORHOODS?
Police have blocked the Arîn Mîrxan (İdil) ve Yafes streets at the entrance of Nur neighborhood with armored vehicles, and positioned snipers on Hill Aşk overlooking the neighborhood which is also being targeted by intense fire opened from the Garrison Command and Tank Battalion. A bomb fired from an armored vehicle left three people wounded, including one heavily. A civilian by the name of Mehmet Emin Levent was wounded by snipers and lost his life as police hindered access to hospital for treatment.
As armored police vehicles have blocked the entrances to Cudi neighborhood and Kobanê (Nusaybin) street since yesterday evening, police teams have started patrolling in the area since early morning and opening random fire around. Turkish forces deployed on Hill Cafer Sadık are opening fire on houses and workplaces.
Armored vehicles around Sur neighborhood have also opened fire on the neighborhood from armored vehicles during last night. A number of snipers have been positioned in Çarkendal area that overlooks the neighborhood.
Fire opened from armored vehicles on orbital road, which overlooks Yafes neighborhood, have also opened fire on the neighborhood during the night, but were hindered from entering there due to the resistance of locals. Snipers have been positioned on some buildings in the neighborhood.
'POLICE DENY ACCESS FOR THE WOUNDED TO THE HOSPITAL'
HDP Şırnak deputy Ferhat Encü and Cizre co-mayor Leyla İmret told that the hospital in the district has been blockaded by police forces. Referring to the reports they received, İmret said four people have lost their lives and many other have been wounded, who are being denied access to hospital for treatment.
