Refugees forced to abandon their camp in Kandil

Kurdish refugees, who were displaced by recent Iranian and Turkish army's bombardment, forced to abandon their camp in Kandil after Kurdish authorities failed to provide health services, electricity and water.

About 600 hundred Kurdish families took shelter in Besti Camp near Pisder, a town of Raniyah province after Turkish and Iranian army destroyed their villages.

At the beginning of their settlement in the camp, Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) provided the refugees with an electricity generator, but it has been for some days halted from functioning under the pretext of gasoline shortage which caused the refugees to further concern over the situation, Abdallah Rasul, the representative of the camp, said.

Most of the refugees moved to their relatives homes in Kurdish cities while some has returned to their villages despite ongoing bombardment.

As Iranian army intensified bombing of the border region, officials expect a sharp rise on the number of the refugees.
