Qeladize people protest the US decision against PKK leaders

People in northern Iraq strongly condemned the US targeting Kurdish revolutionary leaders.

Protests are growing against the US issuing warrants for PKK founders and administrators KCK Executive Council Co-chair Cemil Bayik and PKK Executive Committee Members Duran Kalkan and Murat Karayilan. Demonstrations are taking place across Rojava, Kurdistan, Europe and all around the world in protest at the decision.

As part of growing protests, hundreds of people gathered at the Piremêrd Park in Qeladize district of Sulaymaniyah to protest and condemn the unwarranted decision by the US, which the Kurdish movement defined as “a continuation of the international plot against Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan”.

Demonstrators carried photographs of the three leading revolutionaries of the Kurdish people.

A statement on behalf of the protesters was read by Sabır Abdullah who said the US decision was a part of the plan against the Kurdish people’s future.

“As the people, activists and journalists in Qeladize, we protest this decision of the US”, said the statement.

Abdullah remarked that all the people and political parties should protest this decision, adding; “We must defend the Kurdish nation’s rights all together. We must frustrate this plot against the Kurdish people.”

The demonstration ended with the slogans “We won’t sell the leaders of our revolution” and “Revolutionaries are in our hearts.”
