Police use tear gas in Batman, affecting a 5-year-old child

A 5-year-old child was affected by the tear gas thrown by police.

Protests continued in response to the seizure of the municipality of Batman (Êlih) on 4 November. Police heavily used tear gas in neighborhoods where demonstrations were taking place. Tear gas was also deployed in Bağlar neighborhood, even though no protests were happening there.

A 5-year-old child was affected by the tear gas thrown randomly. The child's family expressed their anger, stopping an armored police vehicle and protesting the attack. Despite the family's protest, the police continued to use tear gas.

Mezopotamya Agency (MA) journalist Heval Önkol was also taken to the hospital due to the heavy use of tear gas. It was reported that he is in a stable condition.
