PKK EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING HELD ON APRIL 21-24

The PKK Executive Committee’s statement on the meeting is as follows:

“In an atmosphere where the World War III in progress in the Middle East expands and deepens in Syria and throughout the region, the AKP-MHP fascist dictatorship intensifies its invasion attacks against Afrin, Bashika and Bradost regions and Bashur and Rojava Kurdistan, foreign and domestic regressive ideologies have come together on the basis of total genocidal attacks against the success of the democratic popular revolution developed in Kurdistan, and our people in all four parts of Kurdistan and abroad, our guerilla forces and all our revolutionary democrat allies have increased the struggle for freedom and democracy on the basis of total resistance as a response, women, youth and all working peoples have filled the squares to put forth their libertarian and democratic approach once again on March 8, Newroz and May 1, and the Resistance of the Age in Afrin has entered a new phase, the PKK Executive Committee held its regular meeting on April 21-24, 2018 and assessed the total revolutionary-democratic resistance by our people and our allies against the total fascist-genocidal attack with an extensive discussion in all aspects including ideological, political, organizational and military aspects, uncovering the resolve and planning level necessary to develop the fight for freedom and democracy further on the basis of total resistance. Our meeting has commemorated Comrade Delal Amed and the martyrs of the Afrin resistance with respect and saluted the fighting approach put forth by our people and forces of democracy on March 8, Newroz, the Afrin resistance and May 1 and the historic acts of resistance put forth by our valiant guerilla forces against the fascist-genocidal invasion, calling on all democratic forces to further and unite of the fight for freedom and democracy against the genocidal-colonialist AKP-MHP fascism in the coming term.

ISOLATION IMPOSED UPON ÖCALAN

Our Executive Committee meeting has assessed the general situation of the total democratic resistance against the total fascist aggression, and has specifically emphasized the increasing pressure and aggravated isolation imposed upon Leader Abdullah Öcalan and other imprisoned comrades in Imrali. The meeting has stressed the need to be aware of hearsay put forth as part of the psychological warfare, and the need to be conscious of the aggravated opression and isolation by the AKP-MHP fascism. The meeting has identified the Committee for the Precention of Torture (CPT) publishing before Newroz the report they prepared two years ago as not an attempt to quell the concerns and expectations of the Kurdish people, but to lessen the fury and reaction of the Kurdish people and their allies as part of the psychological warfare waged by fascism. The meeting has stressed once more that the approach towards Leader Abdullah Öcalan is a red line for the Kurdish people and all freedom forces, and dwelled upon the fact that the CPT and Öcalan’s family and his lawyers being able to regularly and consistently visit Imrali is necessary and important so society and the public can receive correct and healthy information, calling on all relevant parties to be more conscious and work harder on the matter. The meeting has also saluted the struggle and the action campaigns for Leader Abdullah Öcalan to achieve free living and working conditions, and called on our people in all fourt parts of Kurdistan and abroad and our allies to grow, expand and perpetuate the historic struggle and the action campaigns on this basis.

THE ISSUE OF NATIONAL UNITY

Our Executive Committee meeting has stressed the fight for freedom and democracy, as well as the historic importance to unite this struggle in all areas and at all levels, and reiterated the necessity of creating a national-democratic uion among the Kurdish people and fighting shoulder to shoulder with other peoples in all four parts and abroad on this basis. The meeting has underlined that we will fulfill our responsibility in this framework and called on all relevant forces to once more uphold their historic responsibilities, particularly pointing out the fact that this is ordered by history and our martyrs.
