PJAK killing of an Iranian commander reported

Iran media reported the killing of an Iranian commander by Kurdish guerrillas in northwest Iran.

The clashes between Iranian army and Party of Free Life of Kurdistan (PJAK) started as the guerrillas ambushed a military convoy near Orumiyah.

“A high ranking military officer was killed” Iranian Sharsh reported. The identity of the officer remains unknown.

Last week Iranian army heavily bombarded Qandil mountains for the first time after one month.

The attack is thought to be a retaliatory attack for the recent bombing.

Both PJAK and Iranian army did not issue any statement about the incident.
