Peshmerga forces in Kobanê turning back to South Kurdistan

South Kurdistan peshmerga forces who have been in Kobanê town of West Kurdistan, Rojava, to support the resistance against ISIS gangs are turning back.

South Kurdistan peshmerga forces who have been in Kobanê town of West Kurdistan, Rojava, to support the resistance against ISIS gangs are turning back. Peshmergas crossed into North Kurdistan through Mürşitpınar border gate last night.

The returnees include the last group of peshmergas who have joined the Kobanê resistance since 30 October 2014 in line with a decision made by South Kurdistan administration following an invitation by Kobanê Minister of Defense.

After crossing the Mürşitpınar border gate at 11 pm local time last night, peshmerga forces departed for South Kurdistan.

Peshmergas arrived Kobanê in four separate groups each one of which was made up of 150 fighters and were present in Kobanê periodically. The first group crossed into Kobanê over Turkish border on 30 October 2014, the second on 2 December 2014, the third on 15 January 2015 and the fourth on 27 February.
